The Law of Magnetism

I bet you’ve heard the saying “Birds of a feather flock together”. Has this been true in your life? Do you tend to gravitate towards like-minded people, friends who enjoy doing the same activities, and team members who are working on similar projects?

During Wednesday Wisdom on 8/10/2022, the amazing Beverly Banks, Teri Secrest and myself got together to talk about Chapter 9 in John Maxwell’s book titled “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”. You can watch the video below and follow along with several of the key points.

If you are looking to expand the network of people who are magnetized to you, I’m happy to do a one-on-one lifestyle/business coaching session. We can do a zoom call and chat about your goals and how to attract the right people into your life and business. Feel free to call me at 833-357-5777 (does not receive texts) or email me at Elizabeth@LifeWithRose.com

Seven Laws of Magnetism

Generation

You will be attracted to people in your generation, plus people ten years older and ten years younger. For instance, if you were born in the 1992 and you’re 30 years old, then you will be attracted to others born in the 90’s as well as people in their 20s and 30s. You may share general interests like music, TV shows and music. You’ll understand the technology of your generation and how to collaborate online with team members. You’ll have an awareness of the “leaders” of your time. These leaders may be business coaches such as John Maxwell, Tony Roins, Pedro Adao and Pete Vargas. Look to thought leaders, educators, university studies, marketing trends, and social media to see what is being released. Whether or not you agree with the “facts” of the information shared, it’s still go to know how these thought leaders are influencing the country and your niche of business customers.

Attitude

Paul Morris is a great example of a man whose attitude makes you feel like the most important person in the room. Beverly Banks brings her best attitude to work so that she is ready to take on whatever comes.

“Good news goes down, bad news goes up.” Be aware that you share problems with the leaders above you, so they can help you get through it. Share the good news with your customers and team leaders so they get excited and stay informed.

If you have a down day, don’t make care calls. Find a task that needs to get done on your own. Try using Joy essential oil to help uplift your mood.

Background

Theodore Roosevelt was an aristocratic-born, Harvard-educated New Yorker who turned himself into a real-life cowboy and big-game hunter in the Dakotas of the West. He was a strong and genuine leader in both worlds, and as a result, he attracted both kinds of people. Likewise, Elizabeth Rose is an Opera singer raised in Arizona, who turned into Colorado mountaineer, and now resided in the Hill Country of Texas where she uses her varying skillsets to lead a team of health enthusiasts who enjoy going to a good symphony and adventuring outdoors.

As you go through life, always keep an open mind to expand the things you enjoy doing. This will make you a well-rounded person, as well as help you connect to others who have similar skillsets.

Values

“People are attracted to leaders whose values are similar to their own.” - John Maxwell

You will attract people to you who are attracted to what you are attracted to, both in the negative and the positive sense. If you are a negative know-it-all, then you will attract negative know-it-alls. But you won’t do well together because you will clash in what you know and how you share your knowledge.

Attract an organization of positive people who give critical feedback in a positive way. If you realize your organization is getting negative, assess your own leadership and communication style to make sure you’re not sharing negativity.

Yes, share important information, even if it isn’t the best news. But be careful how you say it and the tone you say it in so that you and others can overcome the challenges in a positive way.

Journal about your successes and achievements. Notice the little things that you achieved so that you can stay positive and stay encouraged. The next day you will be more likely to wake up with a good attitude with the motivation to achieve your goals for the day.

“We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Will Durrant

Energy

Be intentional with your energy level. Bring your west energy to a conversation, when you make care calls, and when you’re connecting with friends. Show up ready to make a person’s day happier and brighter. Also, don’t be afraid to go low and meet a person where they are at if they are a little down. It’s very possible to share a “hug over the phone” simply by using your energy and your voice to share love and support.

Giftedness

Look for leaders who are gifted in the areas you need to grow in. Learn from them, read their books and listen to their podcasts, watch their videos. Take notes, use a highlighter when you read books, and take good notes. Do whatever you need to so that you soak up the wisdom and knowledge you need at the time. Even go back and read a book several times, if needed.

Documentaries and biographies will feed your inspiration tank and you’ll be encouraged by what others have overcome to become who they are. Likewise, others will want to learn about you and how you’ve achieved what you have. Be open to share about your journey in a way that gives them courage to work hard to achieve their goals.

Others who have similar gifting will be attracted to you because they see your strength in leadership in those areas.

Leadership

The best teachers are the ones who have learned the skills and have personal experience. To be a leader you must first have the acquired skill and then the passion to serve others while using your skills to help them succeed at their goals.

People naturally follow leaders who are stronger than themselves. You must factor in the Law of Magnetism, which states that “who you are is who you attract.” If you are a 7 when it comes to leadership, you are more likely to draw 5s and 6s to you than 2s and 3s. The leaders you attract will bebe similar in style to you.

I hope you enjoyed this leadership training. Stay tuned for more and keep coming back to this blog for great health, lifestyle and leadership content.

To Your Success!
